WWKs Cutting Room is a new addition to North
Liverpool. And what a welcome addition it is. Head
stylist, Billy, spent 16 years running WWK London but,
missing his native Liverpool, he headed home and
WWKs Cutting Room opened its doors in January 2010.

In the past, I have never really been satisfied with my visits to
the hairdressers. I’ve jumped from salon to salon all over the
city looking for somewhere that I felt comfortable with.
With Billy’s reputation for quality preceding him, I
thought I would give WWK’s Cutting Room a go.

This salon is a treasure trove of quirky finds; movie
posters, a juke box and odd pieces of furniture all
give the place a funky, retro feel and a casual, friendly
atmosphere. Adding to the left of centre vibe is LOLA
the silver lady (the salon’s own mannequin) who
keeps a close eye on the place.

But a funky salon is nothing without talented stylists
and WWK can certainly boast substance as well as
style. Toni is the in-house colour technician and an
award winning stylist to boot. She suggested that
I would benefit from some lighter tones and I am
very pleased that I trusted her judgment – the result
was great. The cut was exactly what I was looking
for. I have never been adventurous with my locks I
normally go for the same thing every time but they
played with the shape and style.

Another striking thing about WWK is that it is by
no means restricted to ladies – they offer men’s
creative cutting as well as ‘kids kuts.’ In fact, on my
visit a Mum, Dad and Son trio all left smiling.

The Cutting Room is a rare gem amongst salons;
funky, attentive and talented. They offer anything
your imagination can stretch to - from a subtle colour
change to extensions or a stylish out and out Saturday
night hair up creation.

It is city centre hairdressing without the city centre
prices. They always have plenty of offers so give them
