CSA Law Change Benefiting Parents With Care

Posted by Administrator | 6 July 2010

Whilst most of us spent April and May engrossed
in Government news surrounding election fever,
submerged within the fine print of impacting
legislation was the very good news for some
surrounding changes to Child Support maintenance.

Morecrofts Solicitors’ Birkenhead-based child support
legal expert, John Hugmanreports that as from mid-April,
laws have come into effect that are driving a stake through the
very heart of the Child Support Agency’s (CSA) original intention
of saving the state money.

So, bad news for the state but welcome news for
Parents with Care who can now keep all Child Support
maintenance instead of having to hand a contribution
to the government.

The revelation of the change comes as a number of
good news stories are being reported highlighting
the improving service of the CSA. Most notable
feedback surrounds the increased number of arrears’
cases now being resolved, action in relation to
enforcement and new administrative powers freeing
up the CSA to deliver a more effective service.
